Ahhh, pink and gold. Two very good colors, hehe. I love pink and I have tons of pink polish. And although it looks great with silver, I figured gold was like sunshine and I was loving the sun being out this weekend. I actually needed sunglasses yesterday even with all the snow that was still falling. Thankfully it didn't stick very well and there was no shoveling involved.
I didn't feel like doing much today, so I just did a simple side swipe. I used 2 coats of OPI Cozu-melted in the Sun for the base. Then I did the lower diagonal half with 2 coats of Ulta Strawberry Smoothie. I did the stripe with Stripe Rite Gold Glitter. Then I thought the pink looked too boring, so I put a coat of China Glaze Golden Enchantment over the whole thing. Topped with 2 coats Seche Vite.

OPI: Pearl of Wisdom
Normally, my mani lasts a week (give or take a couple days). This week, not so much. I don't know if it's just the polish or if something happened. Who knows. Anyway, I just did a plain color to hold me over. I chose OPI Pearl of Wisdom. It is super sheer, but very pearly. I'm undecided on it.
This photo looks like I did NOTHING. Which frankly makes me angry. There are angles that just don't show any color at all.
This one at least shows some of the pearly sheen. This is 3 coats with top coat (Seche Vite).
There are more colors to it IRL. There is some blue, green, pink, orange, yellow and tiny flashes of silver glimmer. It's much prettier in the bottle. Oh well. This would make a great base for a french tho. The application went very smoothly. A lot of these types can streak very easily and I didn't have a problem with that. I'm not a huge fan of sheers all by themselves. But for today at least, I will leave it be.

Wishing I was on the beach
My area got hit hard with some snow a couple weeks ago and we had a tiny bit last week and we're due for more this coming week. But yesterday was BEAUTIFUL!! The sun was out and the snow was melting. It still wasn't all that warm, but at least it felt better. That got me to thinking about the spring and summer... and I LOVE the beach. When I took a look at my little stash, I came across the OPI DS Classic and thought it looked kind of sand-like. It was so pretty I didn't want to put much on top. It's almost a mannequin hand look on me. I like it tho, it came out cute. :)
I started with 2 coats of OPI DS Classic. I painted a little flower/leaf design on the side with China Glaze For Audrey and shaded it with Sephora by OPI Ocean Love Potion. I put a little bit of China Glaze Fairy Dust on top of the flower just because the base is sparkly and I wanted it to be uniform. Topped the whole thing with 2 coats of Seche Vite.

RockStar
So I was debating what I wanted to do this week for my nails. I wanted something fun, but darker since I'd done a few light ones recently. I was browsing through Daily Nail and came across her 5 star nails and decided it looked too cute! I totally stole the idea, but I made it shiny because I like the glitz. I apologize for the messy fingers, but I was in a rush to take the photo. I kinda smooshed the middle finger, but you can hardly tell unless the light catches the bumps (as in the photo, LOL).
I used 3 coats of OPI Mad as a Hatter as a base, one coat of Seche Vite, put the star stickers on and painted on 2 coats of Chanel 219 Black Satin over top. Peel off the stickers and voila! I topped it all off with another 2 coats of Seche Vite, my fav top coat.

Valentine's Day
These actually came out cuter than I thought they would. I was second guessing my choice of a purple and pink design and almost changed it all to pink. I like it this way. Hopefully you do too!
I started with a base of Essie Baby Cakes, sponged on OPI Meet me on the Star Ferry once about 2/3 of the nail and again just on the tip to darken it. One quick coat of Orly Etoile (a very subtle silver/purple glitter) over the whole thing for some sparkle. Then I used Avon Fuschia with a fairly dry brush to make two fat lines which made a small heart shape.

OPI Haul
OPI Haul! I got a bunch of new shades from OPI, but also picked up the Essie matte about you top coat. I've been wanting to try a matte look. Hopefully I can do some new looks with these colors soon.
clockwise starting from the bottom left:
All 4 are from the Hong Kong collection.
Pearl of Wisdom - it turned out very peach in the photo, but in real life, it's a very light opalescent pearly color
Jade is the new black - a dusky green, looks a little more hunter green in the photo than it does in real life
Meet me on the Star Ferry - a purple and gold shimmer
Suzi says Feng Shui - dusky blue, still fairly bright
Left to right:
Essie, matte about you - a matte top coat
Mad as a Hatter - Alice in Wonderland collection. A rainbow glitter, but heavy on the silver glitter
DS Classic - a nude beige rainbow shimmer
