Nail Polish Jewelry!

I think it's pretty obvious that I LOVE nail polish.  The only downside?  When you have to take it off!  So how do we solve this dilemma?  By making nail polish into jewelry!  It's like the best invention ever.  And it's even more beautiful than you could imagine!

How beautiful are these?  The round one is a ring of GOSH Holographic with OPI Black Shatter on top.  The pendant is a water marble using China Glaze Octa-Gone Wild, OPI Austin-tatious Turquoise, OPI Ink and OPI Purple with a Purpose.  Tracey at GingerKitty Designs made these pieces.  I just picked the colors!

Look at that shimmer and holo!  LOVE!  Tracey is a genious!

Sooooooo pretty!  It's a weird angle, but it's kinda cool how it shows the colors.

Check out that holo greatness!  And it's a giant ring, I love big bold jewelry!

This is full sun.  To the naked eye, the entire ring was a giant rainbow.  But I couldn't capture it with the camera.  Weird how that happens.

I highly suggest checking out Tracey's Etsy shop and if you love nail polish, you won't be disappointed.  If you don't see something available in the shop, send her an email and she'll work with you to create something unique.  The quality is superb and the turn around time is decent.  I will admit I was a little afraid of the ring thinking it might turn my finger green, but it didn't!  I was also worried it might be flimsy since it's adjustable, but again, it's not.  The band is actually pretty thick and sturdy.  I will definitely go back in the future for more pieces.  She has an amazing selection and it's all beautiful.

Frenchy Fun

Hehe, I love this one!  I don't know why, it's so simple, but it's just so pretty!

I used Dermelect Makeover as my basecoat.  The one coat of Sally Hansen Black Out on the tips and topped with one coat of Models Own Mixed Up.  I used LA Colors silver to add a stripe on the bottom and added a few holo silver hearts for bling.  The Dermelect is a treatment base coat.  I just started using it, but it's supposed to help fill ridges and grow nails.  The Models Own Mixed up is actually all glitter.  It's a ton of black glitter with some holo glitter thrown in.  It's really cool looking.

Pretty!  Hope you like it too!

Nubar: Gem

There are holo polishes that look like your whole nail is a hologram.  And then there are holo glitter polishes where there are holo flecks mixed in with a color.  This is a holo glitter polish.  I was actually surprised tho at the size of the holo bits.  I expected this to go on smooth, but it's definitely like a glitter.  Not that I'm complaining... who could complain about such an awesome color?

This is 3 coats Nubar Gem.  I topped it with China Glaze Fast Forward.  This went on pretty well, but it is fairly sheer.  It's a nice golden taupy mauve color.  It's not straight beige like I expected.  It's definitely got a hint of pink to it.  And check out that holo glitter!

Ooooo... pretty, haha.  This is another polish that just catches your eye and holds you.  I found myself holding my hands at all different angles to catch the light and reflect the holo.

Here's a nice blurry pic to really show the holo glitter.  It's flashy, but not crazy.  I loved it!

BOO!

Hehe.  Scared you, didn't I?  :)  I free-handed these ghosts... and honestly I didn't like them.  But a lot of other people did, lol.  I was going for a night sky thing with the ghosts swirling around.  I liked it, I just didn't like the ghosts, which is kind of the whole point, but oh well.

This is 3 coats of Nubar Night Sparkle.  Soooo pretty and sparkly!!  I used Color Club Worth the Risque for the dots and ghosts.

Love these colors.  I had no problem with application on either of these.  The Nubar gave fairly good coverage, which was surprising to me since it's a glitter.  But the base is blue too, so it covers pretty well.  And the holo of the Color Club stood out even among all that sparkle.

I wound up liking this one because of the color combo and because it was kind of anti-halloween, haha.  These aren't the usual colors for Halloween, so it caught people's eyes.

Color Club: Revvvolution

LOVE THIS!!!  I can't even begin to explain how gorgeous this is in person.  You MUST buy this color.  Especially since it's so darned cheap.  I got it for $2.50 on TransDesign.

This is 2 coats Color Club Revvvolution.  A gorgeous charcoal gray with holo!!  Of course when I put this on, the sun decides to hide and it was overcast, so these are indoor with florescent lighting.  I included the one blurry photo because it shows the awesome rainbow that I saw in real life.  Too bad I couldn't capture it accurately.  I really should make a light box.  Anyway, this was my first experience with Color Club and the application was superb.  This probably could have been a one-coater, but I didn't do a great job and needed a second coat.  I didn't have any of the issues I experienced with the Nfu-Oh holo, which is good.  It went on very smooth and had great coverage.  I absolutely love this color.  It's eye catching.  I've been drooling over it on other blogs, so I'm glad I've finally gotten it myself!

Color Club Haul!

Ever since I saw some swatches online, I've been drooling over OPI's MPJ and Color Club Revvvolution.  Since I'm not willing to pay an arm and a leg for polishes, I'll hold off on MPJ for now, haha.  Behold my holo haul!!!

Full sun.  Soooooooooo pretty!  Check out Revvvolution in the middle... drool!  I should have shaken them up some before I took pics but it was evening and I wanted to get them while the sun was still out.

My current Color Club collection!  I am totally in love with Revvvolution.  It's just as great in person.  I'm actually wearing it now, but that post will come later.  I'm loving Wild at Heart too.  Love purple and holo just makes it that much more amazing.  Not sure Catwalk Queen is really holo, I will have to wear that one to see.  It might just be a shimmer.  Who cares tho, it's so pretty.  Yay!

BTW, thank you all for the kind words lately.  I'm going through a lot in my life this year.  It's stressful and sad and I was really down for a while.  But I'm building up a defense through my friends and keeping busy with hobbies like nail polish!  I will make it through.  Thank you to everyone out there for giving me something to do!  :)

Nfu-Oh 61

Ok, so let me just start out saying... I totally didn't listen to you girls about this polish.  I heard everyone saying you can't use regular base coat... but I still did anyway.  Oh man, was that a mistake.  This application was AWFUL!!  And then I had horrible chipping after just a day... so disappointing.  But pretty.

I tried a bunch of different angles to get the holo greatness to show up.  Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day and I had to put Seche Vite on to keep it from chipping, so I dulled out all the greatness.  Anyway, this is about 3 coats of Nfu-Oh 61, the silver holo.  I put some sticker jewels on top to make it more interesting.  However, the chipping was crazy and even with Seche, I couldn't save it and it was only on for 2 days.  Blah.  It went on like a streaky mess, which is apparently from the base coat, even though I use a sticky one... Nail Life Gripper (from Sally's).  If I attempt this again, I will not use a base coat and see how it goes.  Until then, I'm very disappointed.  Oh well.
